Hemodialysis is needed for patient in end stage kidney disease for clearing harmful substances from the blood. The patients may need a catheter initially or have a dialysis access placement using their own vein or synthetic grafts.
At American vein clinics we have all the services available from assessment to successfully treating complex access patients. Our goal is to get dialysis access placed in a timely fashion. American vein clinics can provide the following dialysis related services.
Placement of fistula or grafts
Placement of perm catheter
Ultrasound assessment prior to surgery
Revision of fistula or graft
Diagnosis and treatment of Vascular steal from AV grafts
Angiogram of dialysis access
Treating infection of perm catheter or dialysis access
Whether your access is a fistula, graft, or catheter, you must make sure to take good care of it. Your dialysis care team can train you on the steps of good access care.
Your dialysis care team will check your access, usually to make sure it is working well. Access, which is not working well, could decrease the amount of dialysis you receive. Your dialysis care team will train you on how to check your fistula or graft at home each day.
